After talking things over with a very cooperative Arnaz later that night, Kylisha got off the phone and accessed her laptop. Using Gene’s private email address for the first time, she sent him a message that was simple and straight to the point.
It read: I just wanted to let you know that I have not changed my mind, despite your ‘seemingly’ sincere declaration. I still intend to date Arnaz. I suggest you move on with your life, too. I can only pray you will not allow this to interfere with our professional relationship. Kylisha.

When Gene checked his email before going to bed, he was furious. He wanted to go over Kylisha’s house and beg her to reconsider, but his pride wouldn’t let him. He also wanted to call the first available woman in his address book and sleep with her that very night.
That’ll show her! Gene mused hotly. Yet deeper inside, he knew sleeping with another woman was not the answer. It never had been.
No, what Gene needed to do was stay the course. He had to prove to Kylisha that he really did love her. That he really was sincere. The only way he knew to do that was to cut off all his other women and keep going to church.
Is she worth it though? Gene asked himself. Closing his eyes, he pulled up the memory of their last kiss. Yeah. She’s worth it, he quickly decided, smiling as he licked his lips.
